I created this blog back in 2012 to blab on about writing - specifically about my writing journey with a dash of motivational quotes and music. Now that I am a bit older and have more time, I can take more time to write.

As a creative person, I feel as though I have many ideas - most of them fall under the umbrella of writing. I am going to use WBF to execute these ideas.

As for my background: I have a degree in journalism, with a concentration in magazine. In that time, I fell in love with being behind the scenes of a newsroom and the camaraderie. In 2015, just as I was about to graduate, I was selected among 92 students become a Dow Jones News Fund intern. While there are many internships that DJNF offers, I was one of the few copy editing interns (it's now called multiplatform editing). With that internship, I ended up at the Detroit News for four years. (Check out my professional work here.)

As for the fun stuff: I love anime, Shonda Rhimes productions, reading, naps, and traveling. Many of these things serve as inspiration for me when I feel like I am a slump, yes, even the naps (it's called a brain reboot). Whether it's a plot twist in a Shondaland show, a different landscape or city, or intricate world building in anime, I savor what they can teach me about writing. How to tell a story.
